Business Process Management (BPM)

A process is a collection of related, structured activities that produce a service or product. These processes are normally critical to an organisation as they generate revenue and often represent a significant proportion of costs. As organisations strive for attainment of their objectives, Business Process Management (BPM) is responsible for ‘process optimisation'

The focus of BPM thus is to analyse, plan, document and communicate business processes and supporting IT structures.

At Axnosis we use integrated software where possible  ̶  BPM is one such area. The tool of choice is the process4.biz Dynamics Ax software (P4B). This Microsoft Visio based tool includes the P4B Core, which is interfaced with Microsoft’s Dynamics Ax system. Data is stored centrally in a Microsoft SQL server database.

The P4B tool optimises Dynamics Ax functions with regard to design, visualisation and documentation of Dynamics Ax standard processes. The functions of the process4.biz Core, which is embedded in Microsoft Visio, enables this optimisation. Objects and data in the P4B database relate to structures within an organisation and the processes that make up their operations.
